The LIFE community has gone to a whole new level! With the launch of the Mental Fitness Challenge and the incentive trips more people than ever before are ready to get to work and move forward!

One of the most attractive things the LIFE Team offers is community. What is community? Here is the definition from Wikipedia:

The term community has two distinct meanings: 1) A group of interacting people, living in some proximity (i.e., in space, time, or relationship). Community usually refers to a social unit larger than a household that shares common values and has social cohesion. The term can also refer to the national community or international community, and, 2) in biology, a community is a group of interacting living organisms sharing a populated environment.  A community is a group or society, helping each other.

This is one of the biggest assest the LIFE community offers to its members, “a social unit larger than a household that shares common values and has social cohesion. A group helping each other out!”

I recently was able to attend and speak at a LIFE business launch with a few hundred LIFE members excited to learn and move their lives and businesses forward.

This video is just a small part of the LIFE members in Southern Wisconsin that have decided to come together and win in business and in life! There is something very powerful when a group of people learn to succeed as a team. LIFE has created a business that in its very operation begins to restore social capital (community) in a world that desperately needs it. Listen to what Robert D. Putnam has to say about the importance of social capital:

If community exists, both freedom and security may exist as well. The community then takes on a life of its own, as people become free enough to share and secure enough to get along. The sense of connectedness and formation of social networks comprise what has become known as social capital.[4]

Social capital is defined by Robert D. Putnam as “the collective value of all social networks and species (who people know) and the inclinations that arise from these works to do things for each other (norms of reciprocity).”[5] Social capital in action can be seen in all sorts of groups, including neighbors keeping an eye on each others’ homes. However, as Putnam notes in Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community (2000), social capital has been falling in the United States. Putnam found that over the past 25 years, attendance at club meetings has fallen 58 percent, family dinners are down 33 percent, and having friends visit has fallen 45 percent.[6]

The same patterns are also evident in many other western countries. Western cultures are thus said to be losing the spirit of community that once were found in institutionsincluding churches and community centers. Sociologist Ray Oldenburg states in The Great Good Place that people need three places: 1) the home, 2) the office, and, 3) the community hangout or gathering place.[7] With this philosophy in mind, many grassroots efforts such as The Project for Public Spaces are being started to create this “Third Place” in communities. They are taking form in independent bookstores, coffeehouses, local pubs, and through new and innovative means to create the social capital needed to foster the sense and spirit of community.[8]

I love that on at least a weekly basis the LIFE Community gathers to learn, share and expand the community! When people are evaluating your community they usually have at least three components:

1) What are the values this group stands for and believes in? The LIFE community is a group that understands that you need to believe in something or you will fall for anything! We share our values and beliefs through audio training, web cast, videos and,  live events where the top speakers in the LIFE community share with members and customers.

2) Who are the people that are part of the community and what are they like? LIFE has weekly opportunities to get around the people involved and get to know them. We have live events every other week where someone can come and associate with other like minded people and build strong relationship and social capital.

3) Can I add value and contribute to this community? LIFE has launched small groups on a bi-weekly based called challenge groups. This is a place where all members can learn great principles and then share how they have or will implement them in their lives. Everyone has something to share to help all of us get better!

In the book Grouped by Paul Adams he shares why we like to talk and share with others:

When researchers have studied why people share, they have consistently found that many do it to help others. This is an altruistic act with no expected reciprocity. For many, it is important to them to be perceived as helpful, and so they try to share content that they think other people will find valualbe. This is especially clear when we see people share information that may not reflect positively on themselves.

The LIFE Challenge groups give people a platform to share from personal experience and help others.

These are just a couple of thoughts on the power of community and what LIFE is doing to restore better ideas and social capital back into our local communities!

Orrin Woodward has published an incredible article on Compensated Communities that explains even further how the LIFE Community is restoring social capital!

I had to share this video and my thoughts from one of my closest friends Steve Leurquin. I was doing my daily reading when I came upon his latest post on friendship and wanted to share another perspective on the same video. Please read Steve’s article as mine will be tied in to his!

In a world where negative and skepticism is king how do people find the courage to bring out their greatness? I love this video because it explains how it is still possible to live your dreams and become a hero. How many people like Jonathan have greatness within but lack the friend and the stage to bring it out!

The LIFE Community is on a quest to offer both! In Orrin Woodward’s book Resolved 13 Resolutions for Life he teaches the principles of friendship. Everyone who takes the Mental Fitness Challenge is being trained to be that friend for the people around them in their community. Along with learning the right information, LIFE offers association on a weekly basis with like minded people who want you to live the life you’ve always wanted!

The LIFE Team offers a stage for you to shine just like this TV show gave Jonathan his chance. The LIFE compensation plan was created to reward those willing to go through the process: learn, do and then teach!

My friend Orrin Woodward is a prime example of this, from engineer to best selling author and leadership expert. Orrin was given friends for encouragement, a system to grow and a stage to showcase his greatness. In response to all of the blessings he has received he and 7 other co-founders created LIFE to offer this to anyone willing to learn and grow! Orrin, just like Jonathan, displayed his character by not running into the sun with his success but sticking to his friends’ side to bring them along for the journey and help them bring out their greatness!

Never again can you say, I wish I had my chance, it is here!

Enjoy this video and I hope you tear up as you see the greatness that is posible in YOU when encouragement, friendship, courage and character meet!

God bless,

Dan Hawkins

Sometimes the best ideas are not earth shaking, but when applied properly can change everything! The Mental Fitness Challenge and LIFE materials are designed from people who have proven results in life and want to share the small secrets that make a big difference!

I love the following story because it makes the point, the right ideas applied make a big difference and the right information is worth paying for.

In the early 1900′s, management consultant Ivy Lee visited Charles Schwab, the president of the Bethlehem Steel company (it’s NOT the investments Charles Schwab that you’re probably thinking about :)

Ivy Lee asked Schwab what it would be worth to him if he could raise the productivity of his managers by at least 20%. Schwab said that he didn’t know the exact figure, but it would definitely be worth a substantial amount.

Lee then said that he would teach Schwab a simple time management technique in less than 10 minutes that would raise the productivity of his staff by at least 20%, if not more.

Lee insisted that he didn’t want to be paid up front. After a month of using the technique, Schwab could decide for himself how much it was worth and send him a check.

Schwab agreed without hesitation.

Lee then said, “First, write down all the tasks that you need to do. Then at the start of each day, select the six most important items you want to do that day and rank them in order of priority.

Start working on the first item and don’t stop until you are done or have gone as far as you can.

Then, reprioritize the remaining items based on the reality of the day and start working on the next highest item.

If something comes up during the day, only stop working on your current task if the new item is more important; otherwise just add it to your list.

If you don’t complete all the items on your list, don’t worry, just start again tomorrow in the same way.”

Schwab taught the technique to all his staff. After just one month, he was so impressed with the results that he sent Ivy Lee a check for $25,000, which is about $300,000 in today’s dollars… Not bad for a day’s work!

The-life-business.com was design by some of the top minds in leadership and success training today. The information in the Mental Fitness Challenge and LIFE subscriptions was built from decades of working with people and helping them improve in all categories of life.

Please read some of the testimonies that the LIFE materials are producing.

What area of life do you want to improve? What tools do you currently have to help you improve your thinking to get better results?

Mental fitness should be your top priority because it affects everything else in your life!

Take the Mental Fitness Challenge today and start living the life you’ve always wanted!

Are you ready to take the Mental Fitness Challenge?

Starting as early as today thousands of people are beginning to head toward Ohio. Some will come by bus, some by car and others by plane. Many will travel straight through the night to ensure they will not miss a thing! They are all headed to the Ohio State Buckeyes’ stadium filled with excitement, hope, and anticipation!

Many will bring Team flags to celebrate the victories of the ones playing the game and scream and shout with excitement as their favorite players take center stage!

While I write this many will think the Buckeyes have an NCAA game this weekend and all of their fans are going to watch the victory, but actually the Buckeyes are not playing.

This weekend the Ohio stadium will be filled with players of a different game, the game of LIFE! Thousands will show up and do all of the above with one huge difference, everybody in the stadium is playing the game and everyone can experience the victory for their own life! LIFE is about compensated communities working together to win in life!

While sports largely celebrate physical fitness, we celebrate Mental Fitness. We have invited down LIFE members from around the world to come and take the Mental Fitness Challenge!

The entire event will challenge the members to improve themselves mentally and inspire them to go out and help others improve their mental fitness as well.

Employ your time in improving yourself by other men’s writings so that you shall come easily by what others have labored hard for.
Socrates

What you are must always displease you, if you would attain to that which you are not.
Saint Augustine

You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change.  Les Brown

We cannot become what we need to be, remaining what we are.                                                                                           Max Depree

Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.                     Benjamin Disraeli

I could list thousands of quotes by people who have achieved great things on the importance of working on your Mental Fitness. I could also list some quotes from critics who have achieved nothing in life on why you should not improve yourself. I guess the question is, which group would you rather listen to and associate with?

There has never been a statue erected to a critic, and there has never been a statue erected to a man that did not have critics!

Do not expect the critics around you to be excited about you taking time and money to grow yourself and become something more, because by improving you expose their unwillingness to improve themselves!

The LIFE Community is a group of people who have decided to take the Mental Fitness Challenge and improve themselves everyday!

Join us down in Ohio as we celebrate your sacrifice, courage, commitment and yes YOUR VICTORY!

God bless,

Dan Hawkins

The story that is being written is a story that will fill history books of the future. Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady began their leadership journey and partnership about 20 years ago and are just getting started. In the latest release of the Top 30 Leadership Gurus both Orrin and Chris climbed higher on the chart for I believe the 3rd year in a row, now claiming the #6 and #11 spots respectively.

Orrin and Chris are writing a remarkable story that started in two very different places. Here is what author Tim Marks had to say about Orrin Woodward:

Orrin Woodward grew up in Columbiaville, Michigan, a town where the word “vision” wasn’t something you’d hear pop up at the average dinner table. His brilliant mind and work ethic were quickly noticed by his superiors at work, and his amazing engineering genius resulted in four engineering patents to his name by the age of 25. He was on the fast track to corporate “success”. But he was eventually exposed to some new business information, and he decided to go against the grain. He ignored the 95% advice of his friends, family and co-workers, and he plunged head-first into his first entrepreneurial venture.

Success didn’t come easily to Orrin. We might watch him speak on stage today in front of thousands of people and forget that he failed a public speaking class in college. We might read the chapter on conflict resolution in his incredible book RESOLVED and puzzle that this great man describes his younger self as a “no-people skills engineer.” We might see the tens of thousands of people at a Major function and forget that he struggled for several years to build a business community past 200 people. And we might look at his lifestyle, his homes in Florida and Michigan, and his yacht, and not realize the massive battles that Orrin and Laurie have waged behind the scenes on our behalf.

From humble beginnings Orrin Woodward has risen to elite heights in business and leadership, he has now been voted the number 6 leadership expert and claiming the #1 spot from the IAB.  Probably the biggest impact Orrin has had is not in what he has accomplished but the people he has helped along the way. I am so thankful that Orrin has chosen to pursue his purpose because in pursuing his purpose he has given me one as well.

Chris Brady has been introduced many times on stages across the globe as a man who could have succeeded anywhere. Here is what leadership expert Orrin Woodward had to share about Chris.

In truth, Chris Brady has been a dreamer and doer for as long as I have known him. For example, when I was working a full 12 week assignment in Wichita Falls, Texas, I lived in an apartment provided by the AC Rochester plant (one of the reasons I agreed to go to Texas, since I was dead broke.) :) Chris was assigned to Wichita Falls for a six-week term to help launch a new product. Since the plant was already paying for an apartment, Chris crashed with me and several other students during his time in Texas. It was my six weeks with him in Texas that solidified by belief that Chris was different from the rest of us students. Specifically, when comparing his purpose and vision to the rest of ours. Simply put, I had never met anyone so young who was as driven to break free from mediocrity as Chris Brady. His determination and confidence was scary for a low self-esteem person like I was at the time.

However, with that said, his boldness and direction intrigued me as much as it intimidated me. Why did this guy believe so strongly in his purpose? How did he achieve this magical elixir so young? Whatever it was, Chris’s drive led to massive achievements throughout college. In fact, he finished second in his 1990 graduating class at GMI-EMI (not too shabby considering it is a school filled with brains.) :) More impressively, after graduation, he qualified for the coveted GM scholarship program. GM selects only a few of the elite graduates for an all-expenses-paid masters program. Chris chose the prestigious Carnegie-Mellon Institute and graduated with a masters in manufacturing systems. Little did Chris know, however, that beyond his degree, he would gain something much more valuable – the love of his life, Terri (Estes) Brady, whom he met at Carnegie-Mellon.

With such an impressive start in life it is not a surprise that Chris is making such an impact with his newest venture called LIFE. Chris is now the author of numerous best selling books and was recently named the #11 leadership educator in the world!  He continues to learn, grow and teach across the globe to help people achieve the life they have always wanted through better ideas and information.

Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady are just warming up and are on their way to the top of the leadership and personal development field. Their business LIFE has only been in operation since November 1, 2011 and they are already getting national attention for the quality of their products and the growth of the business. The friendship and partnership of Orrin and Chris will go down in history, along with the stories of the thousands and soon millions of people they are impacting in a positive direction.

Thank you Orrin and Chris for allowing us all to pursue our purpose in LIFE!

God bless,

Dan Hawkins

Steve and Kelli Sager are moving on in LIFE using the-team.biz system!  This couple was highlighted on my blog just a few months ago for hitting turbo 25, now they have just achieved the turbo 50 level!(Two groups of people of at least 50 each attending a monthly seminar) More than doubling their numbers in a couple month period and helping many other go turbo 10 in the process. We are blessed to have Steve and Kelli as one of the leaders on Team STEALTH! Here is a great article from Steve Leurquin sharing this couples story.

God bless,

LIFE Success Story

15032012

Steve and Kelli Sager were introduced to LIFE several years ago and were skeptical. Although they didn’t know it, they were not skeptical to whatLIFE offered them, they were unhappy“living the dream” and having no results to show for it. Working hard their whole lives, Steve as a police officer and Kelli a factory worker, they were hounded with debt, time starved, and relationship stressed and were feeling there had to be more to life.

Looking for a better way to make ends meet Steve started to explore other options like going into real estate. During that same time he was introduced to Life-Team through a friend, meeting Gary Severson and although skeptical, the information spoke too much truth. “I was tired of hitting my head against a brick and found this was a good way to stop the pain” Steve said.

Having no security in their jobs, they were living pay check to pay check and just could not get ahead in the drowning pool of debt. Steve and Kelli thought they had done everything they were supposed to do and yet they found themselves stressed out with life.

Using the Team system of success principles they began to leverage their discretionary time to building their business to the first of many notable levels. This past weekend Steve and Kelli celebrated a huge level in Life-Team. They are now being rewarded for their determination, courage, and their tireless effort to helping others. Financially they have witled down a 6+ debt figure to almost nonexhistent and they are putting some final things in place for Kelli’s freedom day! When I asked Steve about other victories they have attained through LIFE he was quick to point their better marriage, coming to faith, and their much improved relationship with their kids.

They are now leading a large community. With their constant learning to grow in the8F’s, many people now come to them for help because they see so much strength in areas that used to be weaknesses.

In a world were many are complaining about their situations but not willing to do anything about it, we solute Steve and Kelli for creating a path for others to follow. Rather than living a life of existence, they are now living a life of purpose.

Enjoy the journey, Steve Leurquin

Recently I began to reread the book Launching a Leadership Revolution. I have read this book many times but every time I pick it up I learn so much more.  I cannot believe the amount of teaching in this book that gives us everything to build a huge organization.

The video I have attached is Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady from Team discussing The Third Level of Influence: Leading.  I love this chapter because this is where some big things start to  happen in a group when this level is applied.  The new leader has learned to be a hungry student and apply the knowledge being learned and puts in the activity and moves to the second level and gets results.

At level two or  performer level the leader can get results through personal effort.  They are continuing to be a hungry student and are now getting personal results. Now they start to add more tools to their belt and step to Level 3.  This is where you continue to learn and perform, but you add leading to the mix.  You start to develop and orchestrate other leaders who are stepping into level two.  You begin to multiply your efforts and explode the effectiveness and productivity of your group.

I encourage you to watch this short clip by Orrin and Chris and jump back into your copy of Launching a Leadership Revolution and start to lead! God Bless, Dan Hawkins

LIFE Founders Chris & Terri Brady

Chris & Terri Brady – LIFE Founders Part I

Posted by Orrin Woodward on February 24, 2012

When I met Chris Brady in the AC Spark Plug lobby, we were 18 years old – kids fresh out of high school. Both of us had dreams, ambitions, and a willingness to work. After a brief introductory meeting with our student advisor, all of the students was sent off to various facilities for their specific assignments. Who could have predicted then what God had in store for two young men in that meeting? Even so, Chris and I met for the first time on that summer day in 1985, eventually leading to a business partnership that would launch a leadership revolution to change the world.

My second recollection of Chris was in our first semester of GMI-EMI, when I sat in front of him in our history class. I heard a young man behind me speaking boldly about the steps he had planned to climb the corporate ladder and achieve his goals and dreams. My first thought was: What 18-year-old already has his life plans laid out in that detail? Curiosity got the best of me, however, so I turned around to see who was speaking. Looking at Chris, I knew I had seen him before, but couldn’t recall where. One things was for sure. I knew then that Chris, at 18 years of age, was focused on moving ahead in life and leadership.

Chris and I went our separate ways after graduating from GMI-EMI. Basically, it wasn’t until after I began seeking another career path to success that we were reacquainted. In truth, I was not planning on contacting Chris for my community – not because I didn’t think he could do it, but rather, knowing his drive and mission, I believed he already had his path to his dreams. Providence, however, intervened. Thankfully, when I began community building with another engineer, he strongly recommended we share our plan with Chris. He said he could line up lunch together for the three of us.

When Chris and I met for lunch, it didn’t take five minutes for Chris to begin dream building me on the possibilities of getting out of corporate America. Hold on a minute, I thought! I am supposed to be dream building Chris on our options, and instead, he has me imagining flying around the Caribbean, talking about owning a local island business, and living the high life. What gives? I was so discombobulated, that I never showed him anything. Only later did I realize that Chris had recently returned from his honeymoon, and no longer wanted to sell the best 50 years of his life working for someone else. Corporate America’s rose-colored glasses, in other words, had been cracked for both of us. Eventually, Chris and I had another lunch appointment that formed the foundation for a life-long business partnership.

Even though our businesses didn’t grow that fast, our friendship and trust for one another did. To be sure, we worked hard, but we never seemed to get the growth we expected from working so hard. Indeed, after nearly five years of tireless effort, both of us combined could barely gather 200 people within our community. Those were less than overwhelming results, to say the least – especially compared to our business today, since we recently had a brand new couple accomplish more in fifteen months than the Brady’s and Woodward’s did in five years! This couple went from zero to over 300 people in their personal community, achieving the RT level in just fifteen months. In Chris’s and my defense, however, it was a different era. We had to deal with overpriced products, an under-rewarding compensation plan, and a meddling myopic management team.

Our businesses may not have grown, but we did, both personally and professionally. We both came to faith in Jesus Christ during our five-year desert experience. It is immeasurable the impact this has had on both of us in all areas of life. Actually, looking back, I am thankful our businesses didn’t grow during this time, because if they had, we might have been inclined to take the credit. Instead, we struggled for years, building and replacing groups repeatedly. The lessons we learned about ourselves and others, realizing not all people follow through on what they say, were essential for our future success. In reality, many people start in community building with selfish motives, but over time, if they stick around, we see them change and grow into servant leaders. Chris and Terri chose the change and growth route, becoming top servant leaders.

Stay tuned for Part II. Sincerely, Orrin Woodward
